Notice:  School counselors are available to support the academic, social emotional, and college/career goals of all students.  As such, there may be times when the academic counselor or SAP Coordinator need to connect with individual students or groups of students to provide resources or to address specific questions / concerns.  All communication with students is in accordance with district policies and guidelines.
Access to Student Services and Appointments
Due to building closure, the Student Services Staff and School Counselors are working virtually. The best way to get in touch is through email.

Questions related to records, transcripts, withdrawal, and enrollment should be directed to our registrar, Mrs. Sidney, at psidney@wcpss.net.

How do I talk with my counselor?

What can I talk about with my counselor virtually?
  • Academics
  • College and career planning
  • “Well-being” checkup
  • Due to lack of confidentiality in a virtual meeting, the counselors cannot discuss sensitive and private personal issues. If these issues arise during a conversation with the counselor, steps will be taken to direct you to the appropriate resources.
  • If you are in a crisis, please inform your parents/guardians or a trusted adult. If necessary, call 911.
  • Resources for support can be found on our Social Emotional Support page.
 FINANCIAL AID 101
Even without a scholarship, there are plenty of other forms of aid that can help you tackle the cost. The financial aid system can be confusing, so don't feel bad if you're a little unclear about how it all works. There are scholarships and grants (which you don't have to pay back), and loans (which you do). Some of what you receive is based on income and some can be based on academic merit.  View the Financial Aide the video below to get more information about Financial Aide Opportunities

The Financial Aid program is designed to be a one-on-one program for students and their parents who need financial help to attend college. ADHS's Financial Aid Advisor is Mrs. Tori Sharpe who is familiar with the financial aid process and the difficulties of filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).  Mrs. Sharpe is located in Student Services on Tuesdays. Appointments may be made by emailing her at vsharpe@wcpss.net or stopping by Student Services. Don't miss the opportunity to learn about financial aid that is available to you and why every student going to college should submit a FAFSA.
